Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)
Supports the cleansing of the liver and kidneys, strengthens the body, and helps clear the respiratory tract. This herb stimulates the body while calming the nervous system. It has draining properties, stimulates the gallbladder, and promotes the elimination of liver toxins. Traditionally used in cases of influenza, joint pain, liver and kidney toxin overload, and severe fatigue. Rich in antioxidants. Also traditionally used for rheumatism, physical and mental exhaustion, asthenia (general weakness), sluggish digestion, migraines, dizziness, nervousness, and insomnia. Excellent in therapeutic baths during recovery. Also supports healthy skin and hair.
Bacopa (Bacopa monnieri)
An adaptogenic plant, Bacopa has been shown to improve verbal learning, information processing speed, and memory consolidation. It supports cognitive function and helps protect neurons, thanks to several of its active compounds. Studies suggest it may safely improve cognitive performance in older adults and contribute to the prevention of neurodegenerative diseases.
Beneficial effects on stress have also been observed following Bacopa supplementation. Prolonged exposure to unexpected stress can cause changes in the brain associated with behavioural alterations. These changes appear to be reduced after consuming Bacopa extracts.
Bacopa may also support the immune system and provide anti-inflammatory benefits. Antispasmodic effects in the intestines and protective effects against gastric acidity have also been reported. Traditionally, Bacopa has been used to help manage digestive disorders such as bloating, constipation, and irritable bowel syndrome.
Contraindications
Not recommended for people with high blood pressure. Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and for children under 7 years of age. May reduce heart rate.
Interactions
• With herbs or supplements: No known interactions.
• With medications: Theoretically, Bacopa may enhance the effects of phenothiazine medications (antipsychotic drugs).
